about the studio of one.

T2ELVE is a one-person practice making identity, interface, and motion work for clients who count time slowly. Independent since 2019. Currently booking small, considered projects for late 2026.

(01)MANIFESTO

Twelve is the number of hours, months, of a dozen good ideas that never made it. This studio picks the one that does.

(02)THE PERSON
/PORTRAIT — 2026, Budapest

Hi — I'm Oliver Vida.

I started T2ELVE in a Budapest courtyard in 2019. The studio has been a single chair ever since — by choice, not accident. The work is the reason; the rest is logistics. Before this, I trained in graphic design at MOME, did a year at a Berlin agency I won't name, and spent eighteen months as the in-house designer at a publishing house where I learned how to read a paragraph slowly. I make identity, interface, and motion work for clients who count their time the same way I count mine — twelve at a time.

(03)TIMELINE — EIGHT YEARS, EIGHT TURNS
— CHAPTER 01

The founding.

One chair. Two clients. A courtyard above a Hungarian bar. The studio's first invoice was for a single business card, hand-set in metal.

— CHAPTER 02

First chapter.

Three commissions — a wine label, a coin, a watch face. We learn to say no. The studio's first manifesto is written on a napkin.

— CHAPTER 03

Three commissions.

Égbolt Festival ships. The studio is invited to its first jury — declines politely. A poster wins an award we forget to collect.

— CHAPTER 04

Studio moves.

We relocate to Október 6. utca — fourth floor, no lift, three windows. The new chair arrives by truck. Folyó Editorial publishes its first issue.

— CHAPTER 05

Type begins.

We commission our first custom face — a single weight of a single serif. Used on every project since. Üveg and Pára ship in the same week.

— CHAPTER 06

Twelve rooms.

Tizenkettő solo show opens at Kiscelli. Twelve rooms, twelve projects, twelve people. A retrospective the studio almost refused to do.

— CHAPTER 07

Reader ships.

Margó Reader v1.0 lands in the App Store after fourteen months. Köd's title sequence premieres at the Hungarian Film Week.

— CHAPTER 08

Halvány opens.

Paris, eighth arrondissement, one bottle. Halvány Atelier launches in March. We close the year with one project still on the drawing board.

(04)WHAT THE STUDIO DOES
/01
identity systems
Marks, type, color, voice — built to be run by the client.
/02
interface design
Long-form products. iOS, web. Typography-first.
/03
motion & title
Title sequences, brand idents, kinetic type. 15–90 seconds.
/04
editorial & print
Books, periodicals, catalogs. Press-checked in person.
/05
art direction
For founders or agencies who need a slow second opinion.
(05)HOW THE STUDIO WORKS
01

slow on purpose

Two projects at a time, never more. The work needs the time the work asks for.

02

one decision-maker

We work with the founder, the editor, the artistic director. Not the committee.

03

type-first

Pick the typeface and the system, then the system writes most of the brand.

04

leave a working studio

Clients get templates, type licenses, and one phone number to call.

05

fixed price

A flat fee per project. No hourly. No surprise invoices. No add-ons.

06

say no often

If it isn't the right project for the studio, the studio will say so on day one.

07

paper first

Every project starts on a single A3 sheet, in pencil, by hand.

08

no rush

Twelve weeks minimum. If you need it faster, we're not the studio for it.
